Class timetable
Every morning we will have Maths and English as well as Guided Reading & Phonics. In the afternoons we will have all the other subjects. The timetable may be altered due to a variety of circumstances but we will try to stick t this as much as possible.

PE is on Friday afternoon this term
Curriculum Overview
English
In English, we will be exploring fantasy setting descriptions. We’ll be using rich and imaginative language to describe magical worlds
Our focus text will be The Magician's Workshop by Pie Corbett. This inspiring story will help us develop descriptive writing techniques and build vivid imagery.

- using conjunctions
- improving sentence openers
- using fronted adverbials
- organising text in to paragraphs
Maths
In Maths, we are focusing on Place Value.
Children will be learning about:
- Representing numbers up to 10,000
- Reading and ordering numbers up to 10,000
- Comparing number up to 10,000
- Adding and subtracting numbers up to 10,000
We will also continue to practise and strengthen our multiplication knowledge in preparation for the Multiplication Tables Check in June 2026.
Science
Our Science topic this half term is Living things and their habitats
Key learning points:
- Understanding & using different animal groups
- Creating classification keys
- Identifying different habitats
- Examining our local environment
- Discussing similarities & differences
History
We are beginning our exciting topic of Ancient Greeks.
Children will learn about:
- Where the Ancient Greeks fit on our history timeline
- Life in Ancience Greece
- The Myths and Gods of Ancient Greece
- Modern evidence of the influence of Ancient Greece e.g. The lympic Games
Geography
In Geography we will be learning about Rainforests
- where they can be found in the world
- why they are important
- the layers of the rainforest
- the problems of deforestation
- environmental issues linked to loss of rainforests
Computing
In Computing, we will be learning how to use coding to create different programs in Scratch.
RE
In RE, our focus will be understanding what different religions believe about God.
PSHE
In PSHE, we will be learning about Very Important People (VIPs) in our lives and how we can show Care & Respect.
Key Information and Dates
- PE: FRIDAY – Children should come to school wearing their PE kits.
- Reading Books: Changed on Thursday.
- Homework: Spellings & Times Tables given out on Thursdays must be returned by Wednesday
- Spelling Test: Thursday
- Multiplication Tables Check: June 2026 - Table practice several times a week
