Welcome to Maple Class – Year 4
A very warm welcome to Maple Class!
Our Year 4 team is:

We have a very busy and exciting half term planned, with lots of fantastic learning ahead!
Curriculum overview
English
In English, we will be exploring fantasy setting descriptions. We’ll be using rich and imaginative language to describe magical worlds, from the chocolate-filled wonders of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to creating our own spooky witches’ lairs.
Our focus text will be The Magician's Workshop by Pie Corbett. This inspiring story will help us develop descriptive writing techniques and build vivid imagery.
Later in the half term, we will move on to persuasive writing, where the children will create their own TripAdvisor-style reviews, using persuasive language to convince their reader.

Children will be learning about:

- Fractions on a number line

We will also continue to practise and strengthen our multiplication knowledge in preparation for the Multiplication Tables Check in June 2026.
